Thump, Thump, Thump...

Our Baby - The size of a plum
Meg is now in her 12th week of pregnancy and our baby is about the size of a plum. A lot of exciting things have happened since the last blog post. At our 10 week prenatal doctors appointment we got to meet our doctor for the first time. After giving Meg a look over to make sure everything looked fine, we got to hear our baby's heartbeat. It was strong and fast!!! What an incredible moment! We were also informed that it was not likely that Meg was carrying more than one baby. The next big milestone will likely be around week 20 when we are planning on finding out our baby's gender. So thrilling!

Over memorial day weekend Meg and I went to Sioux Falls to visit my parents. While we were there, Meg and my mom went shopping for Meg's first pregnancy clothes. I think she was pretty excited to get the new (more comfortable) clothes. We have since gone out and got her a few more pregnancy shirts and another pair of pants. I assume this is still only the beginning of her new ensembles.

The other major events happening right now is shopping for a new house. We have now gone out and viewed 8 homes. We found 2 or 3 that we really liked, but still we have only really begun our search. Meg and I are planning on going to a few open houses tomorrow and will be back out next week with our realtor to look at some more homes on our list. I am sure we will find at least another 2-3 that we really like. I think the ultimate challenge will be narrowing down our list to the perfect house in the perfect location.

Last, but certainly not least, Meg will be starting her new job as a Research Scientist on Monday. The same day as her 30th birthday!!! We believe this job will be one that Meg really enjoys and I am sure she will excel at.
